A production crew with Brand USA — the nation’s official tourism marketing group — filmed a video at Seafood Palace, 2218 Enterprise Blvd., on Wednesday.

Through its Culinary Initiative, Brand USA hopes to entice international travelers to visit America by showing videos of the culinary experiences to be found here.

Travel host Caroline Amiguet tried crawfish for the first time and sampled boudin balls, boiled shrimp, fried okra, shrimp and crab gumbo, and a crawfish pistolette.

“I’m just so happy right now. I’m in luck because I love seafood,” Amiguet said. “The crawfish were fabulous.”

Amiguet also went into the kitchen, where she learned how the catfish and shrimp are prepared. “We saw the entire process, from the food arriving at the restaurant to presentation on the plate,” she said.

Anne Klemke with the Southwest Louisiana Convention Visitors Bureau said Lake Charles’ proximity to Houston makes it a great destination. “We have great gaming, great food and the nicest people,” she said.

The video will air on www.visittheusa.com in four to six months.
