NEW YORK, Dec. 30, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — With only a couple days left in 2016, 800Fund.com wants its small to medium-sized business owners to be prepped and ready to step into a successful 2017. One way to get prepared for a prosperous new year is to begin thinking differently about your current small business marketing, as well as, looking ahead to the 2017 trends.

Keeping in step with the current small business marketing trends isnt just a great asset to have, but rather a strategic part of business survival in a world crowded with businesses. It is a necessity in creating a future and growth for your small business in lieu of simply focusing efforts on outdoing present-day competition.

800Fund.com understands that staying current with marketing and technology trends is an essential element for their small to medium-sized business consumers to expand and flourish properly. The alternative funding leader also understands that while these necessities will pay off for the overall revenue and growth of your small to medium-sized business, staying ahead of the competition can be costly. Keeping that in mind, 800Fund.com is committed to supporting the needs of their small to medium-sized business clientele by providing information on current small business trends and assisting their clientele by way of offering alternative lending solutions to traditional banking.

Lets take a look at a few small business marketing growth strategies for a successful 2017:

Big Data for Small Businesses

Many small business owners have the misconception that this particular trend is simply a push to become data-driven. Under this thought process, small businesses and large corporations alike would be able to simply allow big data and a few select analytics tools to make all of their business related decisions. The majority of businesses do not have the high-end, big data tools, existing data culture or specialized staff on hand to make this a plausible scenario.

In reality, businesses with a strategy for success are pairing their data-born insights with their existing knowledge of applicable trends within their specific business niche and region. These businesses also implement easy-to-understand analytics tools that assist in making sense of the data to improve overall business strategy and success. This is a far more realistic approach that yields the safety and best results that dont require an overly expensive IT overhaul or a large investment in something that will not heed a great return.

Be Mobile-CentricMobile users spend 86% of their time on mobile apps, and only 14% on the mobile versions of websites. With 72% of Americans checking their phones at least once per hour with 90% on apps, businesses with an online presence should consider adding a mobile app to their arsenal for success.

Studies have shown that apps increase consumer engagement and provide your business with much needed customer data and, in turn, increase the ways that you effectively connect with your growing customer base. Mobile app design doesnt have to break the bank. It can be done inexpensively and has proven to benefit even the smallest companies by growing brand awareness and increasing revenue.

You should ask for essentials only when designing an app for your business. The recipe for success with a mobile app is making the checkout process as simple as possible. In this case, simplicity equals success, so no redirections, misleading links, distractions or buttons. Consumers prefer a user-friendly design with bigger input fields and without any needless element. Immediacy is also a key factor in mobile purchasing. The mobile consumer wants to pay with a tap. This means purchasing should be reduced to one action.

Invest in Video Content

Video marketing has proven its value as an extremely powerful and compelling way to deliver interesting content and boost consumer loyalty. Recent research reflects that approximately 60% of consumers prefer to watch content instead of simply reading it.

This research has also shown that consumers prefer to receive content-based marketing messages rather than messages that are considered ad-based. Marketing with good content is considered informational and engaging, while ad-based messaging is considered interruptive and irritating to a large percentage of todays consumers.

Video marketing can be done within the realms of a realistic small business budget. There are a number of creative ways to implement this marketing trend in 2017 without attaching a major expense. The power of delivering video content continues to build momentum and is an essential addition to your business growth strategy for 2017.

Need Funding?
Marketing amp; tech trends come and go, but in order to properly capitalize on growth, you must stay current. Mobile will continue to be entrenched within the business world, so be sure that your business is well-supported. 800fund.com understands that working capital is a necessity for growth and success. For this reason, the company furthers its commitment to support and service their small to medium-sized business clientele while powering local economic growth by way of providing alternative lending solutions to traditional banking.

After over a decade of finding ways to approve business owners that have long faced the struggles of securing funding through banks and other lenders, 800fund.com prides itself in its ?1 to 1 program that starts at just $1,000 and advances up to $1 million with working capital repayment terms from 30 days to 24 months.

4 Top Priorities for B2B Marketers in 2017

For marketers, planning is in our DNA. So, as we review our campaign triumphs and tribulations of the past year, where do we need to focus in 2017? What improvements can we make? What new and exciting directions should we follow? Lisa Bennett, Vice President of Marketing at Kaltura shares the top 5 priorities with fellow marketers for the year to come

As the New Year approaches, we are all filled with the urge to look back upon the last year. What lessons have we learned? What were our successes and…less-so successes (hate to say failures)? Finally, for those of us who are always looking to the future, what should our focus be for next year? Where do we want to improve? What new and exciting directions should we go in?

As a marketer and fail-proof optimist, I am happy to share 4 priorities that I feel are important for any marketer to delve into in 2017. Here goes:

1. Account Based Marketing

If you work in marketing and have not yet heard the term ABM, then you better get cracking. While this is not necessarily a new concept—the idea of focusing on “target accounts”, “named accounts”, “strategic accounts”, or whatever your company chooses to call them, has always been around. However, now marketers are realizing very quickly that there is much more that can be done on the marketing side for Account-Based strategies than ever before. With new technologies focused on this area and measurable methodologies emerging, ABM is proving to be a critical part of the marketing strategy in today’s day and age. As we are all fighting for people’s attention, we need to hone in on our specific buyers in those top accounts in an effective and trackable way.

2. Closer Coordination with Sales

At the end of the day, the vast majority of businesses are in it to make money. Shocking, right? If you’re in B2B marketing, one of your key goals is to feed the sales team with qualified leads and opportunities. You are charged with ensuring that the top of the funnel is overflowing with great leads for the sales team to dive into and drive business. But the devil is in the details—all too often we see marketing and sales teams working in silos. Marketing could be bringing in loads of leads, but if the sales team has shifted its strategy, or decided to put specific focus on certain products, buyers, or even geographies, you might be throwing time, money, and effort away. Make sure to maintain close synchronization and open communication with the sales team, and always dive into the specifics to be truly effective.

3. Analyze, Analyze, Analyze

Marketing is getting more scientific by the minute. Put a strong focus on your marketing data in order to further understand how to spend your budget—define which KPIs you’re trying to achieve, and then take a good look back at last year’s activities to see which campaigns drive you closer to your goals. What worked? What didn’t?

Tap into to ALL of the data sources that you are using—make sure to leverage video marketing that plugs into your marketing automation system, social tracking, and more. Still, don’t go overboard and bog yourself down with so many stats that you end up lagging on actual campaigns and marketing activities.  Focus on the key stats that you can truly learn from, and take action accordingly. Having said all that, don’t let too much data shy you away from taking risks and betting on cool new technologies and tools that could be the next big thing in marketing.

4. Tap into Today’s Hottest Digital Trends

Modern marketers should immerse themselves and their marketing activities into the digital trends that are rapidly taking over so many facets of our lives—specifically, mobile, social, video, personalization and eventually VR and beyond. Take video for example (full disclosure, I run marketing for a video technology company), which has quickly become the medium of choice for communication nowadays. Marketers have been using video for years, but now is the time to ensure it’s treated properly as an additional data type to enable lead scoring, adding calls-to-actions within the videos, interactive features, and more. Marketers need to tap into emerging behavioral patterns and digital trends to increase their effectiveness

5. Find the Balance Between Art and Science

I like to think of marketing as a great blend between Art and Science. The Art side is all about the less tangible items in the marketing mix—PR, awareness, branding, etc.—while the Science side is primarily the nitty gritty trackable lead generation campaigns and activities. Finding a good balance for your organization between the art and science will help ensure that you’re getting the company’s brand in the right places, positioning your executives as thought-leaders, which no doubt impacts the success of those very specific measureable marketing campaigns.

It will be interesting to see what 2017 will bring as our world continues to evolve and change so quickly. From futuristic innovations like Amazon Go and VR, and at least one device in all of our pockets, marketers have a rapidly growing amount of data, channels, and mediums to reach their audiences. It’s time to get to work.

How Brands Can Ethically Employ User-Generated And Viral Video In 2017

Ever since November 8, some analysts and experts have criticized media companies and social media brands for facilitating the sharing of fake news and incendiary commentary during the election cycle. These critics claim that such companies are partially responsible for the spread of anger-filled filth and unverified information, and are calling for media companies and social media sites to do better at stemming the tide of fake news next year.

But false information isn’t the only thing brands need to be careful of sharing in 2017, especially now that (some of) the internet is ever-so-slowly coming to the realization that despite having the ability to quickly press the “share” button, maybe we shouldn’t exercise that opportunity without pausing to verify the facts first.

As such, in 2017, brands will need to be extra careful of the content they utilize and share, especially when it comes to user-generated content (UGC) and viral videos. While it may seem difficult — or even impossible — to review and verify user videos and wildly popular clips, the onus is on brands to make sure they’re using this content appropriately and ethically, or risk rightly getting blamed as one of the companies proliferating the spread of fake information.

I asked Michael Hess, Global Head of Marketing at the social video news agency Storyful, and Dee Nuncio, Head of Social Media at marketing and advertising agency Modop, to provide some insight on this issue of ethics, which will be vital for brands to pay attention to and follow in 2017. Here’s what Hess and Nuncio had to say about how brands can make sure they are best using UGC and viral video in the coming year.

Bree Brouwer: What is the role of UGC/viral video in 2017?

Michael Hess: 2017 will be the year user-generated video moves from a tactic to bolster video inventory, to an essential element of storytelling for all media entities. At Storyful, we see major media organizations, like BuzzFeed, ABC and The Washington Post rely on our video to report breaking news and tell compelling stories that generate engagement and shares.

That shift has led brands to re-think how they scale their own video content and create relevant content that makes sense for their audiences. A year ago, brands weaved a video into a TVC but now brands around the world are coming to us to find relevant and engaging video to use regularly on their owned channels like Facebook, Twitter and websites. We’ll see a lot more of that in 2017 as marketers and brand managers get more comfortable integrating user-generated content into their campaigns.

Online video advertising market set for exponential growth in 2017

The online video advertising industry had a very impressive year in 2016 with growth of 200%. The increase in consumption of video content enabled a shift in gears and growing demand. The accelerating rollout of mobile network and easy availability of affordable internet access, 2017 will be the « Year for Online Video Advertising ».

Commenting on the growth trajectory, Mr. Vikas Katoch, CEO and Founder, Adomantra Digital shared the key factors which will define the growth of online video advertising for the year 2017.

Mr. Katoch said, « Amidst the different online video advertising durations/ formats, the key focus for 2017 would be on Long format video (45 to 90 seconds) ads for a stronger brand engagement with the audience. Video ads of 30 seconds and above allow communication of emotional benefits and deliver complex messages in an effortless way. Long format videos also have the highest likelihood of being shared online for viral impact. »

Highlighting the second most important ad format which will grab eye balls in 2017, Mr. Katoch added, « 2017 will witness 100% surge in Rich Media Format ads. Rich media ad formats have witnessed higher click through rates compared to standard banner ads. Brands and publishers will reap huge benefits because of high viewability in rich media formats as users cannot avoid viewing these ads. »

« Due to easy and widespread availability of 3G/4G services, the on-going surge in internet penetration in the country will be on the rise in 2017, leading to an exponential increase in Video Consumption. With 220 million users, India is now world’s second-biggest smart phone market, internet users in India are estimated to grow by at least 50 million yearly till 2020 », added Mr. Katoch.

He further added, « The industry will continue to hunt for Standardised Viewability Measurement. There will also be an attempt to setup a cross referencing standard across differing players. »

« Programmatic advertising will be a key route for brands due to its cost effectiveness and focused target audience reach. Large brands across industries like FMCG, IT, BFSI, Government will be the key buyers for programmatic advertising, » he added.

Small fleets train drivers with online video

Benefits include employee orientation, content flexibility, and reduced impact on operations, says CarriersEdge.

By DC Velocity Staff

A rising number of small trucking fleets are adopting the online training tools that once could found only at the largest transportation companies, one technology provider says.

Trucking lines with just a few dozen vehicles can use the technology for new hire orientation, to meet ongoing compliance requirements for existing drivers, to train drivers in remote locations, and for refresher training when a driver has a violation that needs to be addressed, according to CarriersEdge.

Markham, Ont.-based CarriersEdge provides online driver training for more than 400 large and small fleets across North America, who use the library of safety and compliance courses to train drivers without impacting operations on the road, and to use its management and reporting functions to track employee training.

Smaller fleets using the firm’s online training courses include Billerica, Mass.-based Boyle Transportation, a transporter of security-sensitive cargo with a fleet of 65 tractors; Bensenville, Ill.-based Matrix, Inc., a 48-state truckload general freight, hazardous materials, and expedited service provider with 65 trucks and 70 drivers; and North Hampton, NH-based Abenaqui Carriers, a diversified hazardous material carrier with a fleet of over 50 tractors and 70 company drivers.

Some of those users choose online training because it allows them to easily customize the lessons and courses to their unique needs, such as a hazmat carrier that has to make presentations on emergency response guidelines, security plans, and cargo tank rollover protection, or a general freight carrier that wants to share videos on aggressive driving and road rage, according to CarriersEdge.

« Some of the training we need to provide is not out of the box, » Michael Lasko, manager of safety and quality for Boyle Transportation, said in a release. « We can’t take a cookie cutter approach to training but with CarriersEdge we have the ability to add training for company policies and procedures, and specialized content regarding things like cargo security or the operation of our reefers. »
