Benjamin Golden has popped out a counter suit at the Uber driver he beat up, claiming the driver videotaped him without his consent and he’s suffered dire consequences from that video going viral. The former Taco Bell executive Benjamin Golden, 32, got into an Uber car and when he became obnoxious he was told to exit. He obliged with the young driver’s request, but not before punching the heck out of the man from Uber.

Golden was arrested after this video demonstrated without a doubt what he had done to the Uber driver and since then he has lost his job. He was sued by this Uber driver for $25,000 in November, reports MSN News on January 17.

Golden recently filed a suit of his own against the man he beat up for taping him without his consent during the altercation in question on October 30, in Costa Mesa in Orange County. Golden’s lawsuit was debated on “Fox and Friends Weekend” Sunday and the majority of the panel didn’t think the suit held water.

According to the OC Register, Golden was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery in November for his attack on the Uber driver. It is not easy to fathom how he thinks he has a leg to stand on in court while trying to sue the victim of a crime he committed?

The video of Golden punching Edward Caban, 23, repeatedly in the head went viral and is still often viewed online. (It can be seen above.) Golden attacked Caban after he very diplomatically requested the obnoxious exec remove himself from the car.

Somehow Golden believes he is the victim in this incident citing he was intoxicated and began to « fear for his safety and well-being » when the driver stopped the car to « kick » him out in a place he didn’t recognize. Golden was blinded by the driver’s pepper spray he also states in the lawsuit.

Golden suffered humiliation and the loss of his job he claims in the lawsuit and because of this he is suing. He claims he was a victim of invasion of privacy, infliction of emotional distress and assault and battery.

It might be hard to decide what is more ridiculous, this guy suing after the video clearly shows he was a man in attack mode that night or the fact that he is suing for $5 million for his dented ego? The only thing that caused Golden embarrassment was himself. Most people would give kudos to a company that deals with the public like Taco Bell for firing an employee that acts this way in public.

It looks like Golden has a lot of time on his hands these days to come up with such a frivolous lawsuit. How can he possibly debate the evidence in the video? It is ludicrous lawsuits such as this one that are tying up the nation’s court system.
