Videos help build brand awareness
When asked to list key video marketing objectives, 91% of respondents replied ‘increasing brand awareness’, while 68% stated ‘accelerating lead generation’.
At pre-sales stages of the buying cycle, the most popular format choice was ‘testimonials’ at 86%, followed by ‘case studies’ and ‘viral videos’ at 85% and 84%, respectively.
Most videos distributed over social media
Social media (79%) topped the list of channels most frequently used by marketers for distributing videos, followed closely by websites(77%).
Interestingly, mobile has still not picked up as a preferred channel for distribution, with only 23% of respondents using it.
‘Video content requires higher investment, and marketers experimenting with formats will succeed in tapping its full potential. Experimenting with channels too is imperative, given the recent growth that mobiles have witnessed,’ said Nimish Vohra, Sr. Vice President-Marketing, Regalix.
The research draws attention to performance metrics, and suggests that we need to come up with more sophisticated parameters for better understanding viewers’ choices.
